Kevin Downswell was born on July 24, 1981, in Westmoreland, Western Jamaica. He grew up in different parts of the island, such as Maxfield Avenue, Waterhouse, and Central Village. He faced many challenges and hardships during his childhood, but he always had a passion and a determination to overcome them. He discovered his musical gift at the age of 13, when he started singing in his church choir. He also learned to play the piano and write songs.
Downswell pursued his academic studies at the University of the West Indies, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 2005. He had a dream of becoming a medical doctor, but God had a different plan for him. He was ordained as an evangelist in the same year, and decided to dedicate his life to full-time ministry.
